And all that Blog!

Greetings again from Montana!

As Erika will tell you, "dancing is not a hobby, it's a sport." I often agree and think that "The Nutcracker" would be much better if the characters tackled each other on stage or vendors sold mini pizzas and hot dogs during Swan Lake.

Though that's still not the case, Erika is still bringing dance into the spotlight, this time with the show that she directed: "Chicago: The Musical"

Inspired by a true story, Chicago follows Roxie Hart who kills her lover in cold blood, manipulates the public and the media, and ultimately becomes a star. Erika choreographed this show, as well, staging dances inspired by Bob Fosse, the original director/choreographer of Chicago.

I designed the set and acted in the show as Amos, Roxie's simpleminded husband who continues to defend her insult after insult.

We're officially halfway through the summer out here which is just insane! This past Wednesday we performed our "2nd Annual Dam Cabaret" which took two songs from 10 musicals that have only been done once at Fort Peck Summer Theatre in the past 42 years. Next up we'll open "Big River", the Huckleberry Finn Musical, followed by our Performing Arts Camp, and wrap up with "Leading Ladies", a non-musical comedy.

Stay Cool whereever you guys are! Hope the summers going great!
