DDay Plus 1 Heading to DDay plus 6-June 12, 2011

The last week of training and it is warm and moist in sunny FLA.    (I prefer the old 3 letter state abreviations).  Winds out of south at 10 knots,  rip tides are few.   I have swam and ridden the course,  the run trail I know well,  course knowledge is key to managing the outcome.  Timing in the clydesdale divisions are competitive but with in reach.

The pre race ritual will be established as this Innaugural Tri for the God Father /God Son  could become as big as Falmouth.  "Don't ever speak against the family again"    Two clydesdales on either side to the 40 year old  Mason Dixon Line....

I too wanted to accomplish a triathlon, prior to 30 - (no I didn't who am I kidding winning the turtle twice at Falmouth was just fine til now) however life and it's journey has taken me to this point and this will be accomplished well before 50.   I do qualify for the fitness test as a out of shape white guy, but more tan than whiter than white.

The accomodations and pre and post race festivities are set for a spectacular weekend at the #1 Beach in America.   Honeymoon Island to Clearwater Beach all in a days tri......

On June 11th...."the longest night" (spaghetti will be served promptly at 6:30)   the sun will rise on DDay plus 6  and we will try as we might to prevail to achieve the goal set before us...for success is the only option...for to fail is the abyss of the effort....but success will have variable metrics to be gauged and it's history will determine it's legacy.  This innaugural God Father/God Son triathlon will set the tone for all of the tri's to follow not just in FLA but throughout the world...

"It is not the end or the beginning of the end, but perhaps the end of the begining"  - (sorry been watching some Military Channel specials on DDay)

And there off - Swim (440 yards or 1380 feet) Bike 12 miles (2 six mile loops) Run (subject to definition) 3.1....Swim, Bike, Run - fun, fun, fun....

See you Friday and Sauturday....PTD......
