No Clever Title

Good Morning Everyone,

So, I took some time off from bloggering for a while.  You see... I enjoy posting my thoughts on working out and trying to get back in shape. The concern I have is that occasionally when things go a little "sideways" on me... I have a tendency to get pretty negative. Just ask the Surgeon General.

Anyways... I try to spare the Dooley noted nation from my barbs of negativity as best I can.

All that being said, things have gotten a little murky here in Philly.  between July1st and July 8th I was working out like crazy for the triathlon.  I really was putting in some serious hours on the road and in the gym.  I worked out hard for a week straight so that I could take a few days off to go to the cape... on the 9th and 10th.

I hit the cape and had one of the best weekends I've ever had on the cape. It was a total blast.  It was so good, that I used 2 sick days on Mon. and Tues. so I could go see the Surgeon General and have a nice relaxing 4 day weekend.

All was well until I showed up at work on Wednesday and received the word that my company is closing the Philadelphia service and I am laid off.  That is right folks.  Laid the "F" off.

So... I was pretty pissed about the whole thing.  My last day in the office was the 22nd, so I've only really been off for a week now, but I basically just shut down to process all this nonsense.

I hadn't worked out since before going to the cape.  Since I hadn't worked out, I didn't blog.  so.... that explains my absence.  But, I'm back now.

My marathon training starts in a couple of days and I've been running to make sure I'm up for the first week of training.

Hope everyone else is having a better couple weeks than I have.   Keep on Rocking in the free world.

  1. Ryan, I'm glad to see you back on the blog and on track with your training. Speaking from personal experience, the layoff thing sucks, but keeping a positive attitude and belief that it will all work out helps.

Which marathon are you training for? I have 2 friends doing Chicago in October, they are running 17 miles today. I did 5 and Joe did 7 it was hot and humid at 6:30 a.m. I have requested a cool morning on the 14th with zero humidity...Mother Nature, are you listening?

We're looking forward to seeing all of you (at least those that will be in MA) in a few weeks!

    xoxo
