Hump Day Hollah - Consistent Action & the Dreaded Middle!!!

Is there just one key to success?  I don't think so.  I like to imagine success is like the island from LOST:  hard to reach and constantly changing and protected by a vicious smoke monster.  Or maybe it's more like a regular island.  The good news is, even though that island of success may be hard to reach, there are lots of ways to try to get there.  My preferred mode of transportation: Consistent Action.  Wishing and hoping upon a star is a great beginning, but without action, it won't get you far.  Heck, Pinocchio had the blue fairy and a singing cricket and he still had to put in some hard work.  Achievements are made and obstacles are conquered by consistent work and laser focus.  No matter the goal (losing weight, paying off debts, world domination, etc) one can link consistent action to every achievement.

Aristotle was one smart guy
Still, even though we know what we need to do, keeping that action consistent can be tough.  We start off strong and love it when we reach our goal, but it's all those points from A on our way to Z that seem to make us falter.  Lousy letters like  J, K, and L trip us up, while Q, R, and S kick us when we're down.  Don't even get me started on W...  In short, we give up in the middle.  Ah, the dreaded middle!  As we strive towards the prize, consistent action becomes too hard and we simply throw in the towel instead of fighting through.  And let's face it, giving up and staying down for the count is way easier than getting up off the mat. Curse you, Dreaded Middle!!!!

mmmmm....cake.....rainbow cake.....
I don't know about y'all, but I tend to overload myself with unrealistic expectations which leads to the occasional (read: daily) stress induced emotional breakdown.  (Sorry, Boys!  I'm taken...)  Sooo... in an attempt to chill out in the middle and better handle my wild ambitions, I need to focus my strength and let some of that other stuff slide.  Be real with yourself.  If baby steps toward the finish line is what it takes, then more power to ya!  I don't have to eat the whole cake in one bite, just one slice at a time.  What's that?  Why do I have to eat a whole cake at all?  Good one!  Wait, was that a real question?  But, I digest... er... digress....  Burning through the middle slowly instead of tackling everything all at once is a much better idea.  Choose what speed works for you and don't worry about anyone else's.  Focusing on family, health, and career are my main attractions and the rest can wait.

Speaking of health (and shameless plugs), if you're interested in losing weight, gaining energy, and feeling better, I'm putting together a friendly little "24 Day Challenge" Competition starting May 12th!  You have until May 5th to order product and register and you can do so with Yours Truly!  It's a great way to prep for the summer festivities while feeling energized and, as I've found, more comfortable in your own skin.  If you are looking to join in the fun and win some awesome prizes, click on the upper left hand corner and send me a message

In conclusion, let's end this Hump Day Holla! with some wise words from good ol' Will Rogers; "Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there..."  So don't just sit there, figure out what you want and act on it consistently. Beware the dreaded middle and push on through. You got this!
