Erika - AKA Mrs. Gorilla Man- I'm writing it down.....

I read somewhere that people who write down their goals are 80% more likely to follow through than those who only think about their goals. I've meddled in the idea of getting back into dancer shape while eating better and actually enjoying my time in the summer, on the water, in a swim-suit, OH GOD. I think to myself, how did I get here? Perhaps it is the bliss of marriage, perhaps it's the mindless eating now that I've been smoke free for almost a year, perhaps it's living in the middle of nowhere and fresh fruit and vegetables are as foreign as above zero in January, or perhaps I've lost my drive.

No matter the reason, I am breaking my silence and committing myself to this crazy adventure to get fit.
· I will train for the half-marathon in July by running at least 3 days a week.
· I will cross train 3 days a week by either teaching a fitness class, videos, and weight lifting
· I will not beat myself up for not losing weight as quickly as I’d like.
· I will enjoy one day this summer in a swimsuit, on the lake, while drinking a Pina Colada, with an umbrella.

There, I’ve written them down.
Boom, yer done.

  1. hey, great to see you on the board flash dance. You are a maniac on the floor. Check out www.halhigdon.com(if you haven't already). Great stuff about training for 1/2 marathons. Your goals sound great. Keep us posted on your progress and I think you're on to something. I think me, my chief of staff, and the D.N. surgeon general should throw down our goals too. THanks Erika.

  3. SOooooo - I thought this was Dools33 writing to Mrs. G for a solid 4 sentences!!! Read it again in that mind set and it makes it halarious!

Hey Mrs. G - great post! I'm going to be posting my goals later on tonight. I have heard the same thing about writing them down.

    Good luck!!
